Stand with Iran against U.S.-Zionist bombing and intervention

The Resist US-Led War Movement condemns the joint attack by the Zionist entity of "Israel" and the United States on the Islamic Republic of Iran. Israel named targets of Iran's Ministry of Intelligence, Iran's Ministry of Defense, the Supreme Leader's office, Iranian Atomic Energy Agency and Parchin, an Iranian military complex, including airstrikes on Isfahan, Qom, Lorestan, Karaj, Tabriz, and Kermanshah. Reported strikes, launched from ships and US bases in the region, have already martyred IRGC personnel and injured civilians. This attack comes after years of punishing unilateral coercive measures (sanctions) on Iran and in recent weeks the largest US military build-up in the region since the 2003 Gulf War, aimed at enacting regime change on a sovereign country.

Resist calls on all its members and peace loving people of the world to protest this attack immediately and to stand in solidarity with Iran.

The depravity of the US is crystal clear, as it conducted strikes amidst talks with Iran in Geneva, placing impossible demands on the table to distract from its true intentions. The Trump regime spewed blatant lies about Iran's intention to develop nuclear weapons, in the same vein as the false pretense of "weapons of mass destruction" that was used to justify the 2003 war on Iraq. Trump also fear-mongered that the "Iranian regime seeks to kill" and is an imminent threat to the US.

In talks this week, the US never negotiated in good faith, reports indicating that the attack was planned months ago and approved weeks ago, even though US congress did not authorize the strike. While the Israeli Defense Minister Katz claims "Israel has launched a preemptive attack on Iran to remove threats to the State of Israel," the Israelis and imperialists are to blame for the lives lost up to now and those to come if this escalates to a regional war. Iran, in a legitimate act of self-defense, is prepared to strike back already launching ballistic missiles towards Israel as of this writing. Katz says he declared an “immediate state of emergency throughout the entire country,” signaling plans for continuing Israeli attacks.

This joint strike between the US and the Zionist entity proves once again that the US-Zionist occupation is the most dangerous, utterly fascist and genocidal force in the world today, acting as an extension of US imperialism in the region. Trump said: "This regime will soon learn that no one should challenge the strength and might of the US armed forces." This follows Israeli strikes on Southern Lebanon and strategic weapons of Hezbollah, for its resistance against Zionist expansionism and genocidal objectives. Following over two years of genocide in Gaza and violent regime change in Syria, which is now willingly cooperating with the US and Zionists by opening up its airspace for American missiles and allowing occupation of its land by the Israeli military, there can be no doubt as to the US' and Zionists' intentions: to establish "Greater Israel" and redraw the map of West Asia to ensure unchallenged access to the region's resources.

Iran was targeted because of its assertion of independence from and opposition to US imperialism's designs for the region, with one of Iran's strongest expressions of this being its unwavering support for the Palestinian people. The historic resistance of Palestine remains at the heart of this matter. The Palestinian people have sacrificed over 100,000 lives since the start of the Al Aqsa Flood operation in their fight to remain on their land and resist the Zionist occupation. Today, as the US strikes Iran, Palestine is still being bombed and systematically starved. As the peace-loving people of the world stand with Iran against these blatant attacks, we must continue to join arm and arm with the people of Iran in standing in full solidarity with the Palestinian and regional resistance.
