In talks this week, the US never negotiated in good faith, reports indicating that the attack was planned months ago and approved weeks ago, even though US congress did not authorize the strike. While the Israeli Defense Minister Katz claims "Israel has launched a preemptive attack on Iran to remove threats to the State of Israel," the Israelis and imperialists are to blame for the lives lost up to now and those to come if this escalates to a regional war. Iran, in a legitimate act of self-defense, is prepared to strike back already launching ballistic missiles towards Israel as of this writing. Katz says he declared an “immediate state of emergency throughout the entire country,” signaling plans for continuing Israeli attacks. This joint strike between the US and the Zionist entity proves once again that the US-Zionist occupation is the most dangerous, utterly fascist and genocidal force in the world today, acting as an extension of US imperialism in the region. Trump said: "This regime will soon learn that no one should challenge the strength and might of the US armed forces." This follows Israeli strikes on Southern Lebanon and strategic weapons of Hezbollah, for its resistance against Zionist expansionism and genocidal objectives. Donald Trump has intensified his criminal blockade on Cuba by signing an executive order on January 29, this order declared a national emergency with respect to Cuba and allowed the U.S. government to impose new economic sanctions on any nation engaging in oil trade with the Caribbean nation. This move comes shortly after US military actions in Venezuela, including invasion, bombing, and the abduction of its president, disrupted one of Cuba's key alliances in the region. Venezuela, historically the main oil supplier to Cuba, has now been forced to halt its shipments to the island. Additionally, the US has illegally seized oil tankers suspected to be sailing to Cuba from the Caribbean Sea to as far as the Indian Ocean, and has declared further economic warfare against any state that does business with Cuba. This immense escalation of the decades-long US blockade of Cuba has led to one of the most severe energy crises in the country's history. Cuba has had to limit civilian and commercial flights due to lack of jet fuel, weakening further people's freedom of movement and the ability of the country to import goods. Electricity cuts have impacted not only private homes but schools, hospitals, and economic production. The existing hardships on the Cuban people imposed by US sanctions and blockade has now reached suffocating levels. In targeting the Cuban population and aiming to deteriorate their living standards, the US strategy is to sow further economic collapse and political turmoil to prompt regime change. The US has made hundreds of unsuccessful attempts at overthrowing the Cuban revolution, with assassination attempts and failed military invasions. DEFEND PALESTINIAN RIGHT TO SELF DETERMINATION! The Resist US-Led War movement stands in resolute opposition to the Trump government's attempt to repackage the genocide of the Palestinian people into a financial venture under its newly unveiled "Board of Peace." This so-called "board," launched at the Davos summit, is a colonial blueprint for Gaza’s future, a direct assault on international law in an attempt to once again bend the world to the will of US imperialism. This "vision" serves to legitimize the ongoing "Israeli" genocide while systematically dismantling the legitimate Palestinian armed resistance through a combination of military intervention, economic coercion and psychological warfare. It is also the desperate gambit of a declining empire, abandoning the pretense of rules based international order and its institutions like the UN it once championed, to a more overt form of domination and control over strategic zones it is steadily losing to key rivals, namely Russia and China. The "Board of Zionists" The roster and administration for this so called "board of peace", an instrument designed to oversee the pacification and colonial administration of Gaza in the wake of Israel’s ongoing genocidal war, is a caricature of imperialist fantasy. Trump has appointed himself chairman with a life-long term, demanding a $1 billion entry fee from any state wishing to join, with all funds to be directly controlled by the White House. The board's composition has fully backed the "Israel" war of genocide against the Palestinian people and has a recorded history of contributing to the "Israeli" settler colonial project way before 2023. Its founding coalition of warlords and finance capitalists includes former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, whose legacy is most known for his staunch support for the 2003 invasion of Iraq justified by the US and allies over false claims of "chemical weapons production" and subsequent actions of the war on terror that killed millions in West Asia. Blair aligned with the US and "Israel" to boycott Hamas after its 2006 electoral victory, while his institute has proudly accepted funds from donors linked to illegal "Israeli" settlements. Jared Kushner, Trump's son in law and the architect of the “Century Deal” that proposed annexing West Bank settlements, was instrumental in the Abraham Accords, which attempts to normalize relations between Arab nations and the Zionist entity. He has since suggested forcibly relocating Gazans to the Negev desert to "clean up" Gaza so Israel could "finish the job." His associate Aryeh Lightstone, a former senior aide to pro settlement ambassador David Friedman, now assists Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, a billionaire real estate investor with no diplomatic experience whose ceasefire proposal was fully coordinated with "Israel" and avoids guaranteeing an end to the war on Gaza so that "Israel" can re-start its slaughter at any time without accountability. Completing this circle is Josh Gruenbaum, elevated to a senior role in the "Board of Peace" despite having no foreign policy background, who rose to prominence by leading a crackdown on US universities over pro-Palestinian activism on campuses, threatening to revoke federal contracts over what he called “anti-Semitic” speech. Also included in the initial roster of participating states are comprador regimes and anti-people governments aligned with US interests like reactionary Gulf monarchies. Amongst those invited is chief architect of the war of genocide on Palestine, "Israeli" prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu. On the very day of its announcement of the "Board of Peace," Israeli military forces killed eleven Palestinians in Gaza, among them two children and three members of the press. Simultaneously, Israeli warplanes conducted a major bombardment across southern Lebanon, targeting the towns of Qennarit, Kfour, Jarjou’, al-Kharayeb, and Ansar. These attacks, amount to the continued "Israeli" violations to the ceasefire signed in October. Since then, "Israel" has violated the truce more than 1,200 times, killing more than 450 Palestinians, restricting vital aid, and blocking all reconstruction from happening. In response, the US has refused to recognize a single violation, instead rewarding this campaign of terror by inviting Netanyahu to sit on its "board of peace." Trying to Make a Business Out of Gaza The "Sunrise Plan," the official branding for Trump's proposed "reconstruction" of Gaza, was also presented at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos. Drafted by Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, the plan unveiled in a PowerPoint to investors and other governments repackages the ethnic cleansing and ongoing genocide of Palestinians into a four-phase, twenty-year project to transform Gaza into a "smart city" and "Middle Eastern Riviera." This “vision” seeks to dismantle Gaza’s identity as a center of Palestinian resistance and memory, rebranding the besieged enclave as an investment opportunity for major US corporations. This plan, built over the bodies of Palestinians, promises profits in civil construction, AI, and tourism and it is predicated in the total disarmament of Palestinian resistance, which would leave the Palestinian people at the mercy of the very institutions that have pursued their subjugation through settler-colonialism since 1948 and before, as well as the same people who continue to wage a genocidal war against them. The project explicitly calls for massive investment from Western and Gulf-based financial stakeholders turning Gaza's reconstruction into a speculative venture for the world's biggest capitalists. By sharing the plan with key Gulf partners to "deliberate and exploit the opportunity," and turn occupied Palestine ravaged by war and genocide into the "the world’s most iconic destination," the US aims to turn a beacon of hope for all subjugated people of the world living under the boot of US imperialism into paradise for consumption and finance capital built atop the ruins of a whole people. Trump Peace is the People's Demise With the "Board of Peace" Trump continues to propagandize himself as a reliable and honest force that will bring peace to West Asia. But after continued funding for "Israel's" genocidal war and political and moral backing for the Zionist occupation, Trump's populist presidential campaign slogans to bring "peace to the middle east" have been fully unmasked to the vast majority of the world. As Zionists seek to complete the erasure of the Palestinian people, the US does whatever it must to keep the project of the occupation alive and strong so as to fulfill their interests in the region and unleash a war of aggression against Iran and the forces of the Axis of Resistance. Project Sunrise is nothing more than an appeasement to US monopoly capitalists in real-estate empire to invest in the so-called "re-development" of Gaza, a project that could only be fulfilled after the defeat of the resistance and the complete ethnic cleansing of Palestinians. This is not a new way of thinking for US imperialism and even though Trump was the one to ride on the bandwagon of "President of Peace," the US has always viewed conflict resolution as just another business deal, not a genuine end to the root causes of conflict. US imperialists are always looking for more profits, not peace. Trump's so-called "peace presidency" follow this same trend, and US corporations, financial investors, and other war profiteers continue to line up to collect their payout over the bodies of those killed by US-led war. An empire in decline switches rules-based order to all-out imperialist offensive The "Board of Peace" also represents an escalation in the US project to strip away all remaining constraints on its imperialist aims. While US policy has long sidestepped international law, the UN Charter, and the very multilateral systems it built and championed as it aided in their exploitation, its current crisis, marked by strategic decline in the face of growing inter-imperialist competition, has rendered even the facade of a "rules-based order" too cumbersome to maintain. Launched under the cover of the Gaza ceasefire, this body is, in practice, the opposite of its name. Trump has framed it as a “bold new approach to resolving global conflicts.” However, its true aims are to consolidate full US control over its policies and actions, placing Trump himself as its chairman for life. This move follows his explicit dismissal of international law, having declared that only his “own morality” will curtail the bellicose policies he is advancing worldwide, a statement made following the unlawful abduction of Venezuela’s President Nicolás Maduro. In reality the US has long operated on a doctrine only imposing international law when it served its narrative while ignoring any mandate against itself positioning the US as the de-facto king of the world under a façade of a rules -based order. One has to just remember the US dismissal of the International Criminal Court or its covert war in Nicaragua. Treaties on climate and nuclear diplomacy are treated as temporary concessions, discarded the moment they conflict with US objectives. Since the post-war era, international law has been a weapon used against adversaries and a shield ignored for itself. The role-play depended on the complicity of its imperialist allies particularly in Europe, who for decades nurtured the fiction of a benevolent hegemon bound by the same rules it enforced on others. That fiction is now dissolving, revealing what the US always was. The US-"Israeli" war on the Palestinian people has put the final nail in the coffin in the façade of international law and allowed the US to test the limits of how far it could go with its barbarity. The Western nations led by the US have maintained steadfast support for Israel throughout its military campaign in Gaza, a war which Palestinian authorities report has resulted in at least 71,000 fatalities with hundreds thousands still to be dug out from under the ruble. This continued backing of the US for the first ever live-streamed genocide even as the International Criminal Court seeks the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu allowed the US to expand the idea of how far it could go without being stopped by its western allies. Only Palestinians Can Decide Their Fate Through immense and unyielding sacrifice, the steadfast resistance forces and the unified free and sovereign people in Palestine and its allies in Lebanon, Yemen Iran and beyond persist as the sole force capable of obstructing the brutal machinery of empire in West Asia. As international law failed the Palestinian people for decades, the Resistance carried the banner of justice and self-determination, giving their life for the struggle for a just peace. The Resist US-Led War Movement condemns in the strongest terms the vile shooting and murder of Renee Nicole Good by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on January 7th in Minneapolis. Renee was courageously acting as a legal observer during ICE raids, standing in solidarity with and attempting to protect her migrant neighbors. This brutal assassination occurred amidst the Trump regime’s deployment of thousands of federal agents to Minneapolis and many other cities in the US, a move that further escalates its ongoing campaign of terror against migrant communities. This killing is not an isolated incident, but another chapter in the centuries-long war waged by the US state against the migrant, Indigenous and Black working class. In this war, since its invention after 2001, ICE has consistently functioned as a domestic enforcement arm of imperial policy, utilizing tactics from tear gas and kidnapping to mass detention and assassinations. In fact, the weapon that killed Renee is part of a broader arsenal funded by the $1 trillion US military budget, a budget that fuels global counterinsurgency operations and military aid to US puppet governments, from the fascist regimes of India and the Philippines to the Zionist entity occupying Palestine. It is this same militarized logic that drives Trump's openly fascist immigration policies that target migrants and left-leaning movements equally as "enemies of the state." By enacting state repression, criminalization repression, criminalization of migrants and activists, and an "anti-terror" narrative, the regime builds on the Bush and Obama "War on Terror" doctrine that killed millions worldwide. These wars of aggression, referred to by the US as "counter insurgency" wars and "wars on terror," are used to further enhance ICE capabilities. The surveillance and tracking technologies employed by ICE are battle-tested in Gaza and the West Bank. The media tactics of scapegoating migrants for economic crises are refined through propaganda wars against revolutionary movements in the Philippines and India as well as to justify the invasion of Venezuela. Imperial violence abroad informs and sharpens state repression inside US borders, and the profits reaped by weapons and war corporations fuel further aggression on all fronts. The empire's concept of “peace” which they wield to justify endless wars exists for the maintenance of a status-quo of day-to-day exploitation imposed through terror and subjugation for the benefit of the ruling classes. As Trump threatens Iran by saying the US is "locked and loaded" if "Iran shoots peaceful protestors" in the country, his regime's ICE paramilitary force assassinates a legal observer standing with migrants in Minneapolis. The US's actions continue to expose the fact that all of these wars, abroad and domestically, serve the ruling capitalist class. It covers itself in the language of "human rights" to justify aggression abroad whenever it fits their profit-making motives while unleashing its most brutal violence against the oppressed nationalities and working classes within its own borders. On January 1, the Armed Forces of the Philippines launched a major attack on Barangay Cabacao in Abra de Ilog, Occidental Mindoro. In a clear violation of international humanitarian law, four attack helicopters dropped at least twelve bombs, followed by hours of aerial strafing, terrorizing the peasant and Indigenous Mangyan communities. The AFP’s attacks killed 3 Mangyan children, injured their mother, and forcibly displaced 188 families from the area. It also led to the death of at least 2 student researchers who had been integrating with the Mangyan community to more deeply understand their conditions. One of these youth was Jerlyn Rose Doydora, a leader with Kabataan Partylist, who died from an illness while trying to escape from the relentless bombing in the area. According to Mindoro Youth for Environment and Nation, the AFP is the “main threat to Mindoro’s environment and people.” “Militarization is a grave attack on the people’s rights for a safe, balanced, and sustainable environment,” the group said in its statement. “Military presence is repeatedly being used not to protect the people but to secure disingenuous projects like mining, renewable energy projects, and eco-tourism that only serves the interests of the few.” We have learned from media reports that Chantal Anicoche, the 24-year-old Filipina community leader from the United States, who was reported missing at the time of the military attacks in Abra de Ilog, Occidental Mindoro, has been surfaced. She traveled to the Philippines to learn from Indigenous communities and participate in volunteer and relief activities related to environmental disasters and rural poverty. Chantal should be safely returned to her family, she should be immediately released from the custody of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and she should be protected from any form of torture, interrogation, threat, harassment, and intimidation from any unit of the AFP. This treatment is consistent with military counterinsurgency campaigns like President Marcos' “National Action Plan for Unity, Peace, and Development” (NAP-UPD) recently adopted May 2, 2025. These counterinsurgency campaigns are deceptively-worded fascist policies that have only led to increased human rights violations against the Filipino people and fail to address the root causes of the ongoing armed conflict in the Philippines. At least 16,733 individuals were victims of alleged human rights abuses in Mindoro from January to November 2025. The NAP-UPD has intensified political repression to attack anyone who is critical of the Marcos regime. These state-sponsored acts of psychological warfare sow confusion and fear among those who support change from the rotten political system and fight for a genuine just and lasting peace. The NAP-UPD comes right off the US playbook for counterinsurgency while being fully funded and backed by this imperialist power. Its legacy, like in the recent case in Mindoro, is one of harassment, the militarization of the civilian bureaucracy as part of counterinsurgency operations, direct attacks on activists, and increased protection of the interests for the local elite and foreign domination. The US National Defense Authorization act just passed the PERA Act which will fund 2.5 billion in military aid to the AFP which commits these gross human rights violations. The US does this to maintain its colonial control over the country in partnership with the local ruling classes, to use its land and people in its wars of aggression against its rivals, namely China, and exploit the labor and natural resources of the country. Right now, the military blockade continues in the area. We urgently demand that a humanitarian corridor be opened, allow a fact finding mission in to investigate and expose the extent of the bombing and strafing, and that Chantal Anicoche be released from AFP custody! Resist US-Led War Movement Stands with Venezuela The Resist US-Led War Movement stands in solidarity with the people of Venezuela, the Bolivarian revolution and the Venezuelan people's right to resist and defend their sovereignty! The US' criminal bombardment of Caracas and the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro under the fabricated pretext of "narco-terrorism" is a blatant violation of Venezuela's national sovereignty and independence. Early this morning, the US perpetrated serious military aggression against Venezuelan territory and its people in the civilian and military areas of the city of Caracas, the capital of the Venezuelan Republic, and the states of Miranda, Aragua, and La Guaira in a blatant act of invasion. This latest intervention by the US, like so many before it in Latin America, has nothing to do with drug trafficking or "defense of human rights." The true motive is the success of the Bolivarian Revolution in breaking Washington's decades-long stranglehold over Venezuela and taking back its natural resources for its own people. Trump’s statement that, “We are going to run the country until such time that we can ensure a safe, proper, and judicious transition of power,” followed by the announcement that US oil corporations will enter Venezuela to, "make money," lays bare Washington’s true intention: to seize a sovereign nation that refused to hand over its resources to US monopolies and implement a colonial occupation of the country. From the very dawn of American imperialism in Latin America, the US has viewed the region's land, its fruits, its mineral-rich depths, the people and their capacity for labor and consumption, the entire wealth of natural and human resources, as nothing but opportunities for profit. The history of the dozens of US intervention operations in Latin American and the Caribbean is one followed by death, devastation, torture, and ruthless exploitation. In the case of Venezuela this is a culmination of a decades long hybrid warfare operation against the victory of the Bolivarian Revolution in 1999. US imperialism has relentlessly targeted Venezuela through sanctions, intervention attempts, and media warfare aimed not only at the government but at the entire nation. In his first term the Trump administration dramatically escalated this aggression by imposing devastating oil sanctions in 2019, unilaterally recognizing coup leader Juan Guaidó as so-called “interim president,” and freezing Venezuelan state assets abroad. These measures, continued under Biden, attacked the people and have severely crippled Venezuela’s economy, blocking access to food, medicine, and basic commodities while strangling the nation’s ability to participate in international trade. Just as the US has waged war on the Venezuelan people for decades, the people have resisted in defending their sovereignty and self determination. As the US announces its plans to put its boots on the ground of the Bolivarian republic in a blatant attack to the country's sovereignty the people have already taken the streets to demand the freedom of President Maduro and condemn unilateral and criminal US attack on their land. Despite threats by the US to occupy the country, the Venezuelan people bravely stand united despite the risk of a full-blown invasion by the largest military in the world and the full scale plunder of their land. The full unconditional solidarity of the people of the world must be urgently rallied to their cause.
