7/21/2026 U.S.-Zionist Aggression Kills MOU with Iran and Leads to All Out War in West AsiaRead Now  While people across West Asia mobilized in the tens of millions on the streets of Tehran, Qom, Najaf, and Karbala to pay tribute to the martyred Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the U.S. and Israel hatched new war crimes against millions of people throughout the region. In the face of the new onslaught, the unity of fronts of struggle across West Asia remains unbroken and continues to resist the imperialist treachery. The people of the world must stand with them in their resistance for genuine peace and self-determination across Lebanon, Iran, Iraq, Yemen, Palestine and beyond. Resist U.S.-Led War Movement condemns the American-Zionist moves towards all out wars of aggression and urges actions by the world's people to mobilize to stop the wars and raise solidarity with the people's resistance. The Breakdown of U.S.-Iran MOU and a Return to All out War The breakdown of the U.S.-Iran MOU has led to the return to a full-scale U.S. war of aggression on Iran. The June 17 interim agreement, a 14-point memorandum, which was supposed to extend a 60-day ceasefire across all fronts including Lebanon, was designed to permanently end military operations. As Point 1 stated: "The United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran and their allies in the current war, by signing this MOU, declare the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon, and undertake from now on not to initiate any war or any military operation against each other." However, with Israel already engaging in a multi-front genocidal war stretching from Gaza and the West Bank to Iraq, Lebanon, and now Iran, the agreement’s collapse confirms the lack of US genuine interest in stopping the war, only shamelessly pursuing its own economic interests at all costs. Iran made it unequivocally clear that it would not tolerate a piecemeal implementation of the MOU, and after several violations from the first day of the agreement by both Israel and the U.S., Iran closed the strait of Hormuz several times. Tehran declared that Iran's territorial integrity would be defended and that there would not be free flow of vessels in the Strait of Hormuz until all of the MOU conditions are met. As signed in the agreement by the both the US and Iran, deviations from the full 14-point agreement, especially regarding Lebanon, would be met with disruptions to the waterway through which 20% of world oil exports pass. As of July 16th - Iran said it considered itself "no longer bound" by the MOU, due to U.S. violations. U.S. Zionist "Peace" Efforts Mean Redistributing the War The U.S.-Iran MOU clearly includes the cessation of hostilities on Lebanon, yet the U.S. and Israel continue pressing to remove Lebanon from the MOU negotiations. The U.S. aimed to isolate the Lebanon front while pursuing escalation on the Iran front. Although the interim agreement called for ending hostilities across all fronts, Israel insisted on retaining forces in southern Lebanon and placing conditions for withdrawal on the disarmament of Hezbollah, while Israel retained the right to bomb any target they deemed as a threat. The Trump administration sponsored separate negotiations between Lebanon and Israel to use the sell-out Lebanese state to discuss Lebanon on separate terms. The Lebanon-U.S. framework immediately undermined the U.S.-Iran MOU’s pledge to ensure "the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Lebanon," but also laid the basis for a return to tit-for-tat strikes between the U.S. and Iran. Just days after Israel and the U.S. launched their war on Iran on February 28, Israel invaded Lebanon and has since occupied a large swathe of the country’s south. With a subsequent U.S.-mediated Israel-Lebanon framework tying Israel’s full withdrawal to Hezbollah’s disarmament, Israeli withdrawal is essentially therefore not the starting point of the agreement, but leverage to sell out Lebanese sovereignty, normalize relations with Israel and give away the people's right to defend themselves and their land. After two days of U.S.-mediated talks in Rome, in mid July, Lebanon and Israel took steps toward implementing “pilot zones” in southern Lebanon where Israeli forces would withdraw and turn over control to the Lebanese army, under the stated intention to clear these areas of Hezbollah fighters. Trump once again repeated his proposal for the former Al-Qaeda turned Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa to send forces into Lebanon to “take care of” Hezbollah. The Lebanese people have decried this framework as the treachery by the government that sacrifices Lebanese sovereignty under the guise of ceasefire negotiations. The Israeli occupation of the South and the bombing of the entire country is materially carrying out its Gaza strategy in yet another war. Over 4,000 people have been murdered in the attacks with over 10,000 injured. Roughly a fifth of the Lebanese population has been displaced. Sixty-four hospitals and clinics have been hit, and more than 100 health workers have been killed. The targets of Iranian strikes are the American terrorist outposts in the Gulf, while the targets of American strikes include hospitals and civilian infrastructure This week there has been a return to escalation of drone and missile strikes between Iran and the US on a regional scale. Iranian officials have furiously condemned U.S. military actions as blatant war crimes. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said in a post on X on Thursday that the U.S. carried out a “barbaric” attack and 211 patients “undergoing chemotherapy” were evacuated from Shahid Baghaei Specialised Hospital in Ahvaz. Later, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, called out the strikes as “war crimes” and denounced U.S. attacks on civilian infrastructure as “undoubtedly a flagrant violation of the United Nations Charter and the fundamental principles of international law.” Araghchi also highlighted the bombing of Minab primary school, the school in southern Iran that the U.S. and Israel bombed on the first day of the war, killing at least 168 children. The U.S. Central Command (Centcom) confirmed it had targeted command centers, air defense sites, and coastal surveillance facilities across Iran, including Bandar Abbas and Greater Tunb Island, while simultaneously restarting strikes on civilian infrastructure including grain silos and bridges, and struck close to the mourning crowds gathered in their millions to grieve the Supreme Leader. Saudi Arabia, led by the U.S. lapdog family dictatorships, struck Sanaa Airport just nine minutes before the scheduled arrival of an Iranian aircraft, as Iran proceeded to break the imperialist blockade of Yemen. This U.S. aggression has only deepened Iranian resolve to fight and continue standing against imperialist aggression on Iran, and in defense of Palestine and Lebanon, with protesters flooding the streets despite the aimed bombing. In response, Iran has launched its own wave of powerful counterattacks, with the Khatim Al-Anbiya headquarters issuing a stern warning to the United States, declaring the Strait of Hormuz an "invincible red line" and promising the total destruction of regional infrastructure and Israeli targets in response to any American military aggression. Since the return to all out war, Iran has launched attacks on the radar systems, Patriot defense system, and fuel depots of the U.S. Army at the Ali Al-Salem base in Kuwait; communication and radar systems and Patriot facilities at the Sheikh Isa base in Bahrain; and American F-15, 16, and 35 fighter jets and MQ-9 strategic drones at the Azraq base in Jordan. Iran released a communique with a message to the people of Kuwait: "Do not allow the enemy to use your land to aggress and commit crimes against the people of Palestine, Lebanon, Iran, and Yemen. Do not miss any opportunity to strike at American interests and expel the soldiers of the Great Satan from your land." Following the renewed U.S. attacks and violations of the MOU, Iran's retaliatory strikes killed 2 additional American soldiers on Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, east of Amman, Jordan, bringing the total U.S. deaths to 17, according to the U.S. Department of War. The U.S. imperialist class willfully sent these young people to be killed in the war, at bases in Jordan, Kuwait, and Bahrain that are located thousands of miles from U.S. shores, positioned there for the sole purpose of ensuring imperialist interests of the U.S. Iran is besieged as it continues steadfast support in defense of Palestine Iran's staunch support for the Palestinian liberation has remained steadfast in spite of the maneuvers of the U.S. and Israel to try to divide the Axis of Resistance. The ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in Palestine continues to worsen, with countless victims still trapped beneath the rubble and strewn across roads, as ambulance and civil defense crews remain unable to reach them. Since the ceasefire took effect on October 11, 2025, the toll has already reached 1,127 martyrs, 3,643 injuries, and 800 retrievals, while the overall death toll from the "Israeli" aggression since October 7, 2023, has climbed to a staggering 73,250 martyrs and 173,751 injuries, according to the Ministry of Health as of July 16, 2026. Meanwhile, Gazans live in perpetual displacement and Israel has daily violated the Trump-brokered ceasefire since it was declared last October, including severely limiting humanitarian aid flows into Gaza. Materials essential for any serious reconstruction work are blocked. Israeli forces have repeatedly moved forward from the agreed ceasefire line, which split the strip roughly evenly between Israeli- and Hamas-controlled sections, now directly occupying more than 60% of the territory and creating an expanded buffer zone beyond that. Amid this dire reality, investment fantasy, thinly veiled as a humanitarian relief project, envisioned by Donald Trump's Board of Peace (BoP) has been rehashed from a full-scale Gaza blueprint to a tiny pilot scheme in the south of the strip. The envisaged pilot involves a temporary camp for only a fraction of Gaza's two million displaced people, with a Palestinian administration, police, and a small international security force drawn from Morocco and Kosovo, totaling 5,000 troops. The center represents little more than a concentration camp within a concentration camp, another tactic in the same genocidal strategy since the beginning of Zionist occupation. The National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), a body of 13 Palestinian professionals and technocrats composed by the BoP early this year, has been barred from entering Gaza by Israel and remains based in Cairo, rendering it effectively powerless to implement any meaningful governance or recovery on the ground, fulfilling the purpose of expanding the occupation as designed. Against this backdrop of relentless military expansion and genocide, the ceasefire itself is a mere façade for continued Israeli occupation and collective punishment. The fundamental issues in Gaza of occupation, siege, and the systematic denial of basic necessities, remain at the heart of the conflict, so any ceasefire that ties Israel's withdrawal to the disarmament of the resistance forces only entrenches Israel's control over Palestinian territory. Gaza's survivors are subjected to yet another chapter of forced displacement and deliberate starvation under the guise of a "peace" process that delivers nothing but more suffering. We must rally in support of the liberation struggles across West Asia against ongoing U.S.-Zionist rampage The Resist US-Led War Movement firmly condemns the ongoing U.S.-Israeli war of aggression and the expanding occupation that has brought death, displacement, and destruction across West Asia. We demand an immediate and unconditional end to all U.S.-Israeli military operations and the full withdrawal of occupying forces from every inch of Palestinian and Lebanese territory. We stand in unwavering solidarity with the people's resistance against imperialism and apartheid, recognizing that the struggle for liberation is a righteous response to decades of oppression, siege, and systematic ethnic cleansing. The so-called ceasefires, "peace" frameworks, and pilot schemes promoted by the Trump administration and the Board of Peace are nothing but smokescreens for U.S. imperialist treachery, designed to fragment the region, disarm resistance factions, and impose a new colonial order that serves Western hegemony while trampling on the sovereignty of nations. The 2026 NATO Summit in Ankara, held on July 7–8, 2026, like the 2025 summit in The Hague, focused on a leaner but more costly and deadly agenda. With only six points, NATO's final declaration of unity continues to cement the alliance as the most heavily armed, pro-U.S. offensive military alliance in the world. In the process, it bankrupts member countries, enriches weapons and high-tech corporations, and brings all nations within the U.S.-led imperialist bloc into alignment with Washington's war strategy to confront China in Asia and the Pacific. More than any previous summit, this one demonstrates how NATO, in pursuing its mission across the three main fronts of U.S. led war, is actively waging, and gearing up for war on these three fronts set by the U.S.: against Russia, against Iran, and against China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea). In doing so, it is making the world more unsafe, unstable, and violent for the people. U.S., NATO, and the Front Against Russia: Shifting the Burden to Europe to Contain Russia On the first front, against Russia, the U.S. is enlisting Europe to contain the threat in Eastern Europe. A stated U.S. goal at the Ankara summit was to secure increased defense spending from European allies. Washington is holding NATO members accountable to the commitment made in The Hague in 2025 to reach a defense spending target of 5% of GDP by 2035. U.S. Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker characterized the Ankara summit as the moment for allies to deliver on these pledges. This pressure has already produced results as European NATO members weapons imports increased by 143% from 2021 to 2025 compared to the previous five-year period, with U.S. suppliers accounting for 58% of that total. At the Ankara summit alone, over $50 billion in new arms contracts were announced, with U.S. companies such as Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, and Northrop Grumman being the main sources of these weapons, including Germany's confirmation that it would purchase U.S. Tomahawk cruise missiles and Trump's declaration that he will grant Ukraine the license to domestically manufacture Patriot air defense missiles. Ankara also marks the first time the Defense Industry Forum, previously relegated to a side event at NATO summits, was included in the official program, giving U.S. weapons and war corporations an active and official role within the summit itself. This U.S.-driven militarism, supported by European ruling classes, has nourished the rise of fascist and chauvinist forces that feed on the worsening misery of working people. They use racist and xenophobic hysteria against migrants to manufacture consent for war against other regional powers like Russia or any nation that defies imperialist domination like Iran, all while using public revenue and austerity measures for more arms and military technology. U.S., NATO, and the Front Against Iran and the Axis of Resistance: Normalizing Relations with Israel across West Asia towards Attempting to Weaken the Popular Resistance Hosted by Turkey and unfolding amid the U.S.'s violation of the Memorandum of Understanding with Iran, signed only a month prior, the U.S.-Zionist war on Iran was a major topic of the two-day gathering. In West Asia, U.S. imperialism continues to attempt to design the region in the image of the Zionist entity, pushing normalization with Gulf monarchies through the Abraham Accords and using NATO to ease tensions between Turkey and Israel.Turkey's geopolitical position makes it a key player in NATO's strategy on multiple fronts, with a new naval command under construction in the Bosphorus directed toward Russia, while the new NATO Corps headquarters in Adana is oriented toward Iran. Meanwhile, Turkey continues its own brutal campaigns of repression against the Kurdish people inside and across its borders, while maintaining an illegal military occupation in northern Cyprus. The current goal of the U.S. in West Asia is to "remake" region with Israel as the dominant power so the U.S. can shift its full attention to the Pacific, where it looks to confront China. Beyond the shallow condemnations from European allies regarding the U.S.-Zionist war on Iran earlier in the year, Mark Rutte boasted that between 4,000 and 5,000 aircraft had been launched from NATO members' bases to support attacks on Iran as of June, 2026. In response to the military actions, Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) and its army conducted multiple waves of retaliatory strikes against U.S. military assets across the region. The summit happened as the U.S. bombed cities in southern Iran while Ayatollah Khamenei's funeral procession took place, and Rutte once again made clear where NATO stands, saying that the violations of the MoU were "extremely necessary." U.S., NATO, and the Front Against China and the DPRK: The Pivot to the Pacific as the Main U.S. Strategy to Contain Its Self-Declared Biggest Enemy- China The U.S. used the Ankara summit to advance its strategic pivot to the Asia-Pacific, pushing NATO to align more closely with U.S. interests in the Indo-Pacific theater. Since the second Trump administration took power, U.S. officials, including Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, explicitly declared that the era of the U.S. subsidizing the defense of wealthy nations is over. They framed this as an opportunity for European allies to take on greater responsibility for their own continental defense, thereby freeing up U.S. resources and focus for Asia and the Pacific region. In recent years the participation of NATO's four Asia Pacific partners--Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia, and New Zealand, in summit-related events, this marks a clear step toward deepening NATO's engagement with the region to counterbalance China, in accordance with the U.S. Indo-Pacific Strategy. In Ankara, discussions with these four partners focused on expanding cooperation in defense industries and advanced technologies, with the U.S. objective of supercharging the weapons supply chain and strengthening its position in the Asia-Pacific with NATO's help. This military buildup is accompanied by weapons testing and provocations in exercises such as Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC), in which many NATO members participate alongside U.S. Pacific allies, as well as Balikatan in the Philippines and Resolute Dragon in Japan. Wherever NATO Implements Its Strategy, the People Continue to Resist At this year's Summit, NATO members buckled to the dictates of the U.S., putting NATO even more at the service of U.S. war strategy to fulfill its war goals of supercharging war and weapons companies' production and selling the lie that militarism will bring about peace. In Turkey, host of this year's summit, this resistance took to the streets where thousands protested the warmongering convention. Demonstrators rallied in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir, carrying banners with calls such as "NATO wants war, workers want peace" and "Budget for the people, not for NATO." Continuing with its anti people agenda Turkish authorities in partnership with NATO imposed a ban on demonstrations and launched widespread crackdowns. More than 100 people were detained during an anti-NATO protest in Ankara just days before the summit began, and earlier operations saw over 200 individuals arrested, including a journalist, lawyers, an academic, and a union official, with authorities issuing warrants for 241 people. In 2024 (Washington D.C.) and 2025 (The Hague), the Resist U.S.-Led War Movement, together with its allies, built the Resist NATO campaign that mobilized thousands across Europe and the U.S. This year, in partnership with its allies in the International People's Front and the International League of People's Struggle, we are participating in the Resistance for Just Peace and Liberation campaign. From April 2026 to November 2026, the campaign is organizing several activities, including webinars, anti-NATO actions, a Festival of Resistance for Peace, Democracy and Liberation (Brussels, 28 August), and the International Peoples' Tribunal on Cyprus (Brussels, 13–14 November), which will expose British and Turkish crimes on the island and the continued occupation of the territory by NATO forces. Fight for a Just and Lasting Peace! 7/3/2026 250 Years of U.S. Wars On The People: A history of U.S. wars and people's resistance for just peace over two and a half centuries of American imperialismRead Now  The Great Sioux Wars, "The Custer Fight", Charles Marion Russell, 1903 For two and a half centuries, the United States has waged war to expand its empire across continents and oceans, from the land theft of North America to wars of aggression in the jungles of Southeast Asia and the deserts of West Asia. The U.S. has the deaths of millions people across the world on its hands. This long history of military intervention has consistently been met with resistance. 250 years of U.S.-led war must come to an end through the decisive action of the people, united in struggle to win their self-determination, freedom from US imperialism and a just peace.
Wars of Colonization and Westward Expansion (1775–1850s) America's military history begins with the Revolutionary War (1775–1783) against Britain, followed by the Quasi-War with France, the First Barbary War, and the War of 1812. But the true engine of early U.S. expansion was the violent dispossession of Indigenous peoples through campaigns like the Northwest Indian War and the Seminole Wars, alongside the Mexican-American War (1846–1848), which seized vast territories from Texas to California. These conflicts were galvanized through the ideology of "Manifest Destiny," the doctrine that American settlement across the continent was inevitable and righteous, while committing genocide against Indigenous people and stealing Native land. Ethnic cleansing became the formal policy of the nascent United States under the the Indian Removal Act of 1830, with wide spread barbaric tactics used including famine, displacement, kidnapping, torture, and enslavement. Between 12-15 million Africans were kidnapped and enslaved in the trans-Atlantic slave trade to the Americas, from the 1500's to 1866, enriching slave holding elites, with millions dying in the Middle Passage. Civil War & Monroe Doctrine (1860s–1910s) The American Civil War was waged from April 12, 1861 – May 26, 1865, a struggle between dominant classes that put ordinary people to the front lines to fight a war for them. This period also includes the Spanish-American War, through which the US acquired overseas territories. as well as later interventions like the Philippine-American War, killing almost a million Filipinos and using intense torture techniques and genocidal policy to "kill anyone over the age of 10" in effort to extinguish the people's resistance. The Banana Wars in Central America and the Caribbean were waged through U.S. intervention to maintain its sphere of influence and to secure the Panama Canal (which opened in 1914), for the benefit of big agricultural corporations like the United Fruit Company. These wars co-opted or derailed the independence struggles of countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America from European colonization to grab territory and spheres of influence, especially declaring Latin America as the property solely of the United States empire. Battles against the European colonizers were fought and won by Indigenous resistance like in the case of the Battle of Little Bighorn, during the Great Sioux War in 1876. World Wars (1917–1945) The US entered World War I late (1917) and used the war to export capital for the reconstruction of Europe and take over spheres of influence since it was the imperialist least materially affected by the war. It was World War II that transformed the nation into a global superpower. Deploying overwhelming industrial and military might across both the European and Pacific theaters, the U.S. emerged in 1945 as the world's preeminent capitalist power. Responding to the inter-imperialist battles, revolutionary wars also took advantage of the crisis to take socialist state power for the first time in history in 1917 in the Soviet Union and anti-colonial movements took hold worldwide, setting the stage for the coming Cold War. WWII was even more deadly than WWI, killing 60 million people and destroying a huge amount of property. But it also resulted in the rise of several more socialist countries and a great wave of national liberation movements, especially those of the Chinese revolution and Vietnam. Cold War (1945–1991) The wartime alliance with the Soviet Union quickly dissolved into ideological confrontation, as U.S. leaders viewed any challenge to capitalist hegemony as a threat to their newly won global dominance. The Cold War was actually a series of hot localized proxy wars, which included the big U.S. wars of aggression in Korea (1950–1953), Vietnam (1955–1975), the US-supported Israeli wars on Palestine, and the anti-Soviet wars in Angola, Ethiopia, Nicaragua and Afghanistan. These wars caused the death of millions of people, far exceeding the number of those killed in World War I. The U.S. killed millions, justifying intervention as anti-communist containment. In Latin America, Washington orchestrated coups, backed dictatorships in Chile and Argentina, and invaded Grenada. The 1965 Indonesian massacres, which claimed at least 1.5 million lives, were actively facilitated by US intelligence to secure oil interests and crush the left. These conflicts, coupled with relentless economic blockades against Cuba and economic warfare against sovereign nations, represented an imperialist campaign to suppress national liberation and socialist aspirations through wars of aggression. The Period of Unipolar Dominance (1991-2012) The 9/11 attacks provided the pretext for a permanent "War on Terror" that would reshape U.S. military engagement for the 21st century. Under neoconservative doctrine, the U.S. invaded Afghanistan (2001) and Iraq (2003), the latter based on fabricated claims of weapons of mass destruction and ties to Al Qaeda. The real motives of the Bush regime and the so-called neoconservatives were to take over the second largest oil resources of the world in Iraq, keep secure the US dollar as the currency of oil transactions, increase US control over Saudi Arabia and the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), use US military bases in centrally located Iraq to control the entire Middle East and remove Iraq as a threat to the US-Israeli collaboration. In this period, the U.S. deployed troops to Kenya, Uganda, Liberia, Cote d'Ivoire, Sierra Leone, Guinea-Bissau, Congo, Gabon, Rwanda and the Central African Republic. Drone warfare, covert operations, and support for allied regimes have extended operations across Libya, Syria, Somalia, Yemen, and Iran, while US- Israeli genocidal offensive in Gaza continue massacring civilians. Rather than peace, the post-9/11 era has seen an expansion of the U.S. global military footprint, with 14,000 of military installations worldwide and massive annual defense budgets. Multipolar Decline (2012- Present) The period spanning the 2010s and 2020s has been defined by the fracturing of the US-led unipolar order, with China's rising economic and military power and the emergence of rival economic blocks like BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), prompting the U.S. to launch its strategic military "Pivot to Asia". Deepening crisis of neoliberalism under U.S. imperialism fueled the rise of a distinctly US fascist movement embodied by Trump, and the international "Rules Based Order" faced existential challenges, with any guise of U.S. democracy laid bare by the genocide in Gaza. In this period the U.S. waged war on 3 major fronts; against China and the DPRK in Asia using a web of alliances in Asia including JAKUS (Japan, Korea and the US) and JAPHUS (Japan, Philippines and the US) and AUKUS (Australia, the UK and the US); against Russia using NATO (North America Treaty Organization) and Ukraine as proxy; and against Iran and the Axis of Resistance using Israel. Flashpoints included the Syrian civil war, the grinding campaign against ISIS amid ongoing Iraqi instability, genocidal proxy wars in Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo, War on Terror drone campaigns in Somalia, Mali and Pakistan, the humiliating US defeat in Afghanistan, the proxy war in Ukraine, the genocidal war against the Axis of Resistance in Gaza, and escalating war games against China, while the US simultaneously maintained blockades against Cuba and Venezuela and conducted extensive military exercises, training and war drills to expand their interoperability worldwide. These conflicts are waged through advanced technological means including long-range land, sea, and air missiles, massive drone and counter-drone warfare, cyber warfare (notably in hybrid warfare against Iran and Venezuela), and the integrated JADC2 command network, yet they are continually undercut by resilient resistance by state forces and people's warfare tactics on land, water, and air. Resist to defeat U.S. led war Throughout these 250 years, resistance has remained constant. Nations like Cuba and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea have survived decades of blockade, subversion, and military encirclement, upholding socialist sovereignty against U.S. aggression. Palestine, Iran, Venezuela, and others invoke national independence to resist U.S. economic blackmail and political impositions. The two and a half centuries have shown that history, in the end, and the terms of peace do not belong to the colonizer, the empire, or to genocidal regimes. Instead they belong to the anti-colonial armed struggles in the colonies and semi-colonies, to the Vietnamese victory over U.S. forces, to the defense of Iran and the Axis of Resistance, to the anti-war solidarity movements everywhere that have contested U.S. empire. The US will not win "peace through strength". It will be the people's mass resistance that will overcome American militarism with the material force of the struggle for peace based on justice and self-determination. |
