ABOUT THIS TOOLKIT
The Rim of the Pacific Exercises (RIMPAC) will descend upon occupied Hawai'i from June 24-August 4 for the world’s largest maritime war games. RIMPAC is an arena to exchange death-making technology and war tactics among 31 national militaries, with over 25,000 troops, every 2 years in the occupied land and oceans of Hawai'i. The kinds of war games rehearsed in RIMPAC are already a form of warfare on the people, while also preparing for an even more catastrophic large scale military confrontation in the Asia Pacific region.
In 2024, Resist U.S.-Led War Movement joined with decades of anti-RIMPAC in Hawai'i organizing to co-convene an international campaign exposing and opposing the RIMPAC Naval exercises, culminating in a large mobilization over 600 strong and counter-summit in San Diego, at the launching point of the RIMPAC exercises.
This year we aim to grow the international coordination of the resistance against RIMPAC from all hosting and sending countries. Join the People’s Caravan to learn more and take action!
RIMPAC trains military regimes known for their genocidal tactics and oppression of Indigenous communities globally. Israel participates in RIMPAC, conducting military training to wage genocide on Palestine and Lebanon and war on Iran. Training on occupied Native Hawaiian land then serves murder and genocide of indigenous people on occupied Palestinian land. Concurrent with RIMPAC, the U.S. conducts large scale war games like Resolute Dragon, Valiant Shield and Keris Strike, violating sovereignty of Guam, Okinawa, Japan, Sabah and Malaysia.
We call on our movements in all countries sending their militaries to RIMPAC to resist these war games! Fight against RIMPAC, Valiant Shield, Keris Strike and Resolute Dragon military drills!
What can you do?
- Join the People’s Caravan Against War Drills to grow our visible opposition RIMPAC, Valiant Shield, Resolute Dragon, and Keris Strike this June - July.
- Sign and share the Joint Letter: End RIMPAC
- Organize actions against military entities involved in RIMPAC like the sending military bases, U.S. embassies.
- Register the actions on the People’s Caravan website to show international solidarity
- In your country, challenge government officials to not send their military to the RIMPAC exercise
- Educate your communities using the military exercises primer
- Target the war corporations sending their equipment into the war games
- Submit testimonies and expose the direct impacts of the games
- Release statements of solidarity with people resisting the exercises and opposition to US-led war
ABOUT THE PEOPLE'S CARAVAN AGAINST WAR DRILLS
People are refusing to let their countries be dragged into U.S. war games, protesting their own governments' participation and complicity in these exercises, blockading and occupying bases and warehouses that house the weapons systems used in these drills, and exposing the corporations that profit from weapons production. They are documenting U.S. military crimes, filing lawsuits, launching justice campaigns, flooding the streets in mass protest, and even taking up arms to confront the U.S. use of their land for war aims.
Join the Resist U.S.-Led War Movement in our People’s Caravan against War Drills. Raise the level of solidarity and fight U.S. war preparations by taking direct action against the exercises, staging rallies and demonstrations to show mass opposition, and hosting educational events and webinars to share strategies and tactics across our movements.
By taking this coordinated, mobile, and decentralized approach, members and allies of the Resist U.S.-Led War Movement will confront these exercises and call to strengthen our sovereignty against U.S. wars and war preparations.
