Stop the War With Venezuela - International Online Rally

Join the International Online Mass rally : Stop the War With Venezuela
January 25, 2PM EST
Register here: tinyurl.com/handsoffvenezuelarally

In the face of blatant, illegal U.S. attacks on Venezuela, popular movements around the world have taken to the streets in support of their Bolivarian Revolution. U.S. special forces operations, after months of massive deployment and build up of military forces in the Caribbean, President Maduro and Cilia Flores were kidnapped on January 3, charged with bogus “narco-terrorism” and conspiracy on January 5 and remain prisoners of war in NY.

The Venezuelan people are resisting and we must support them. We must continue to defend and stand alongside the brave people of Venezuela, against U.S. terrorism and destabilization. From Gaza to Caracas to the Belly of the Beast, we must have coordinated and organized resistance against imperialist war for sustained and growing international solidarity. Join this online, international rally to say no to US military aggression; hear from international activists taking urgent action and coordinating resistance from around the world; and  commit to the fight for sovereignty, independence and just peace.

We understand that this is not a singular moment, but a continuation of the decades-long war on the Bolivarian Revolution to destroy Venezuela’s sovereignty, blockade the country’s economic and military alliances, and isolate the Venezuelan government from forming alliances with other Global South countries on their own terms. The U.S. revamped “America First Strategy” aims to outcompete its rivals such as China and Russia, while reasserting exclusive dominance over the western hemisphere, in line with the Monroe Doctrine tradition.

The rally will also be a platform to strengthen our collective mobilization for a coordinated week of resistance January 24-January 31 to target strategic political pressure points to stop the war on Venezuela in solidarity with the people’s resistance in Venezuela, Latin America and the Caribbean.

Join us to share and align concrete strategies and tools to organize:
  • Rallies and teach-ins om your neighborhoods, communities, university campuses,
  • Labor mobilization in unions to shut down the supply chains of imperialism,
  • Action tools targeting arms factories and ports that are providing the weapons for this aggression
  • Campaigns targeting the US military bases that facilitate operations and the US diplomatic institutions like U.S. embassies pushing the U.S. “America First Strategy”

Stop The War on Venezuela!
No to U.S. Wars for Regime Change!
Free President Maduro and Cilia Flores!
Down with U.S. Imperialism!
Venezuela Se Defiende! No Se Rinde!
Venceremos!

This is a collaborative effort by:

Join the Week of Resistance! January 24-31

The U.S., in its lawless quest for full-spectrum domination, is killing us. The stakes could not be higher as the same state forces unapologetically take lives in our neighborhoods, in Venezuela, and across the globe. The U.S. wages consistent attacks and war against the peoples’ will and national sovereignty. Understanding clearly that our common enemy will stop at nothing to enforce its imperialist agenda, this moment demands that we confront our concrete targets head on, building not just moral but material resistance that is evidence of a people united.

Given the stakes of the moment, we must be strategic and tightly coordinated in our efforts to mobilize consistently and effectively. That’s why we call for resistance against the militarized infrastructures that enforce U.S. hegemony and domination, in a focused effort to disrupt the U.S. war machine so we can build structures and systems rooted in just peace and genuine self-determination.

We understand that the call to mobilize and sustain our solidarity- in a more concentrated and militant way - will advance the broader anti-imperialist movement.

Demands:
Stop the war on Venezuela!
  • We must understand that this is not a singular moment but a continuation of the decades-long war on the Bolivarian Revolution to destroy Venezuela’s sovereignty. This imperialist intervention brazenly violates  international law. After over two years of genocide in Gaza, imperialist intervention tested on nations like Haiti that have long violated the declaration of the Americas as a Zone of Peace, U.S. military buildup in the Caribbean and subversion throughout the hemisphere, the ongoing colonial occupation of Puerto Rico, and the bipartisan intensification of repression domestically throughout the United States, the US invasion of Venezuela shows the US has no limits on its aggression
No to U.S. wars for regime change!
  • We unite with the communiqué shared by the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, which detailed that: “The objective of this attack is none other than to seize Venezuela's strategic resources, particularly its oil and minerals, attempting to break the Nation's political independence by force. They will not succeed. After more than two hundred years of independence, the people and their legitimate Government remain firm in defense of sovereignty and the inalienable right to decide their own destiny. The attempt to impose a colonial war to destroy the republican form of government and force a "regime change" in alliance with the fascist oligarchy will fail, as have all previous attempts.”
  • We also unite in opposition to the ongoing U.S.-led aggression, coercion, and subversion against sovereign states of Cuba, Iran, Colombia and others, as well as colonial impositions in Palestine, Haiti and beyond. An anti-imperialist position defends these states and peoples against U.S. interventionism and international lawlessness.
Free President Maduro and Cilia Flores!
  • The U.S. empire has also kidnapped Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores and has taken them to New York to prosecute them in U.S. courts. The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, under both Chavez and Maduro, has faced a number of overt and covert attempts to overthrow its government and destroy its socialist project. Inventing the “narcoterrorism” justification to criminalize leadership is a familiar page in the U.S. imperialist playbook. Maduro and Flores are prisoners of war in this broader attack on Venezuelan sovereignty.
Defend Venezuela’s Sovereignty and Right to Resist!
  • In his press conference detailing the operation, U.S. President Trump claims that the U.S. will “run” the Venezuelan government to ensure a “transition” and is prepared to continue attacking the country again. Yet, we know that the U.S. is not running Venezuela at the moment, and this is part of the U.S.’s psychological war and will not be accepted by the people of Venezuela.
  • In the face of these attacks, the working class, revolutionary people, and popular movements of Venezuela have taken to the streets in support of the Bolivarian Revolution. National liberation movements around the world continue to strike blows against US imperialism from Palestine to the Philippines. Our international solidarity with VenezuelaVenezuela from anti-imperialist, anti-war, and pro-peace movements and organizations must continue to defend and stand alongside the brave people of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
End the U.S. War on Migrants!
  • To struggle for peace, we must shut down ICE and address the imperialist root causes of forced/coerced migration, including ending the criminalization of migration and dehumanization of migrating peoples, as well as defending against the violations of national sovereignty that create the conditions for coerced or forced displacement and migration.
  • This domestic repression is the direct counterpart to the United States' foreign policy of full-spectrum dominance. It operates on the same logic of subjugation and control.
End the Genocide in Palestine and Defeat Zionism!
  • The fascist Zionist entity has been unmasked and unleashed as the most vicious expansionist project in the world today, completely armed and protected by the US. In response to the Al Aqsa Flood national liberation operation of the Palestinian resistance, the Zionist entity launched a genocidal campaign against the entire population of Gaza and accelerated the siege on the West Bank. The Zionists have used their extermination war to justify bombings, assassinations, and occupation of Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen while eyeing an ultimate war against Iran in their expansionist quest to establish "Greater Israel".
  • The Zionists have also actively advised and armed other fascistic movements around the world where the people continue to fight for liberation from occupation, demonstrating that the occupation and liberation struggle of Palestine is intrinsically linked with settler colonialism and resistance to it worldwide. This is particularly true in the Americas, where Zionist have proliferated violence through counterinsurgency, political subversion, and arming of murderous right-wing governments.  Against this violence, the Palestinian people and and the broader Axis of Resistance inspire the whole world and serve as a compass for all anti-imperialist movements fighting for self-determination to end the genocide, free the prisoners, defend their land, defeat Zionism and win their freedom.

As a part of our growing collective resistance, we call for a week of action:
  • Mass Online Rally - Sunday, January 25, 2 PM EST
    • The rally will be a platform to strengthen our collective mobilization for a coordinated week of resistance.
  • Week of Resistance at Key Pressure Points of U.S. Militarization, from physical force to economic warfare - January 24-31
    • Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC), Detention Centers, City Halls, Cop Cities, Training Facilities
    • Weapons Manufacturers
    • Fossil Fuel and Oil Companies that support intervention
    • US military bases/Consulates/Embassies

Solidarity actions with the people of Trinidad and Tobago against Zones of Special Operations Bill
Resist US-Led War call for action, January 23, 2025

Calling for solidarity:
We invite our network to show solidarity with the people in Trinidad and Tobago who are facing far right policies designed to destabilize their communities under a new Zones of Special Operations bill being currently considered (as of Jan 23) in the national Parliament.

To support members and allies are invited  show support to:
1.   take photos with the placards
2. Make posts with the photos ASAP and use the hashtag
#NOtozosoTT
3. Release statements to expose the Zones of Special Operations to show the international pressure against US neocolonialism and strong arming policies that will hurt the people.

Placards for photo campaign: https://www.canva.com/design/DAG_PxlNH6U/Tin4rCgt7jLpUGvyCKAh7g/edit?utm_content=DAG_PxlNH6U&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link2&utm_source=sharebutton

The Trinidad and Tobago islands are home to a people who have fought against colonialism, by the British, Spanish, French, and Dutch; and neocolonialism by the US and have been subjected to Trump like policies under the most recent Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar of Trinidad and Tobago of the United National Congress (UNC), a party in Trinidad. Instead of looking at the roots of crime and poverty inflicted by neoliberal policies in Trinidad and Tobago, the United National Congress (UNC) is proposing a crime bill that will place the people under intense police violence, surveillance and at risk of arbitrary and illegal detention, called the Zones of Special Operations.

The U.S. repeatedly uses "wars" on drugs and gangs as pretexts for intervention and militarization. In Haiti, the "Gang Suppression Force" uses this narrative to suppress the populace. In Trinidad and Tobago, security partnerships with SOUTHCOM, formalized via operations like Tradewinds, are publicly promoted as combating crime and delivering aid. However, these efforts primarily serve to advance U.S. strategic dominance, embedding Trinidad within a broader framework of militarized control over the Caribbean region.

In Trinidad and Tobago, as the US recently has deployed troops, military equipment and installed a new radar base - using Trinidad and Tobago as part of the launching pad for operations in Venezuela. While the Trinidad and Tobago government ramps up the crack down on poor and oppressed people internally, it aims to destabilize the communities there, at a key time while their resistance and regional unity to fight back against US imperialism is urgently needed and being organized by the people!
Context on the Zones of Special Operations (ZOSO) in Trinidad and Tobago:

  1. The ZOSO legislation grants police and joint security forces enhanced powers, leading to the stigmatization of specific communities, particularly inner-city and poorer areas.
  2. Under the act, law enforcement can search persons, homes, and vehicles without warrants and seize property based on suspicion.
  3. Citizens can be restricted from entering or leaving designated zones with little or no notice, and these zones can be instituted for up to six months and extended for a year without Senate approval.
  4. This expansion of authority conveniently serves to suppress dissent and protests at a time when the U.S., through agencies like ICE and in support of the IOF, is contributing to regional destabilization.
  5. People in Trinidad and Tobago are watching a bill that could allow expanded police powers and curfews in defined zones without adequate safeguards, a concerning development for civil liberties.

Objectives:
  1. Mobilize Resist US-Led War Movement members and allies to show solidarity with the people of Trinidad and Tobago against right wing state repression policy and US intervention in the Caribbean
  2. Generate propaganda that shows resistance against US/Trump policy of "re"-militarizing the Western Hemisphere
  3. Expose and educate our members on SOUTHCOM
  4. Expose tactics of militarization in the neo-colonies and consequences of militarization, current deployment of US forces in operations against Venezuela

From the very beginning of American imperialism in Latin America, the US has viewed the region's land, its fruits, its mineral-rich depths, the people and their capacity for labor and consumption, the entire wealth of natural and human resources, as nothing but opportunities for profit. This latest invasion in Venezuela is no different.

We invite you to the next network meeting to understand the U.S. imperialist strategy against Venezuela in order to better take action together against these imperialist offensives.

This network meeting will be an opportunity to come together across our international anti-war movement to learn from each other and discuss how we can best rally in solidarity with Venezuela in its fight for sovereignty and independence.
